Summer Margaritas
My daughter wanted summer margaritas for her birthday. That was the whole request. Mexican food and margaritas, please and thank you, and since I had never actually made one myself, I figured her birthday was as good a reason as any to learn.
We ordered takeout that night and picked up a make your own margarita kit from the restaurant, but I also grabbed extra ingredients because I wasn’t convinced the kit was going to be worth what it cost. Six of us were celebrating, and by the end of the night I had made margaritas for the first time in my life and they were so good. Good enough that I kept making them long after the birthday cake was gone.
The batch I’m sharing with you today came together on a hot summer afternoon, the kind where sitting on the back deck with a cold drink in your hand feels less like a treat and more like a requirement. I made these ones alcohol free, blended straight from frozen fruit, with the dose living entirely in the sweetener. That means you control exactly how strong your afternoon gets, and so does everyone else sipping alongside you.

Cannabis Infused Strawberry Margaritas
Yield: 4 servings Prep time: 10 minutes Blend time: 1 to 2 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 lb (16 oz) bag frozen whole strawberries
- 1/2 cup water, plus more to thin as needed
- 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
- 1/4 cup infused agave, honey, or maple syrup (adjust to your dose)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Lime wedges, for garnish
- Coarse salt, for rimming glasses (optional)
Instructions
- Prep the glasses (optional). Run a lime wedge around the rim of four glasses and dip in coarse salt. Set aside.
- Build the base. Add the water, lime juice, infused agave (or honey or maple syrup), and salt to your blender.
- Add the strawberries. Add the frozen strawberries and pulse until chunky, then blend on high until smooth, about 1 to 2 minutes. If it’s too thick to move, add more water a tablespoon at a time.
- Pour and garnish. Pour into your prepared glasses, garnish with a lime wedge, and serve right away.
Do the math before you drink it. This recipe puts your entire dose into the infused agave, honey, or maple syrup, so a little goes further than you’d think. Run your numbers through the Bite Me Dosage Calculator before your first batch, and log what worked in your Bite Me Dose Diary so next time takes less guesswork.
The Mango Version
The same week I tested the strawberry version, my daughter specifically requested mango, so I made that one too. Swap the frozen strawberries for frozen mango, add the juice of half a lemon along with your lime, and blend with a handful of ice instead of the extra water. Everything else stays the same. It’s just as fast, just as dairy free, and just as good on a deck chair in July.
To build your own infused syrup from scratch, the this guide to making infused sweeteners walks you through it.
A Few Ways to Make This Your Own
This cannabis infused strawberry margarita recipe is a canvas, not a rulebook. A few ways I’ve played with it since:
- Dose it per glass. Blend the base with an uninfused sweetener, then stir infused agave or honey into each glass individually. Useful when you’ve got a mixed group, or a partner who doesn’t consume for whatever reason. No one has to miss out on the party.
- Use a flavorless infused powder if you want to dose the batch without adding another liquid sweetener to the mix.
- Go CBD instead of THC for a daytime version. Same chill, different curve.
- Add the alcohol back in if that’s your preference. Just know that mixing infused edibles with alcohol is an advanced move. Alcohol tends to intensify and speed up how cannabis hits you, so this pairing is better suited to people who already know their tolerance well. If you’re newer to edibles, keep the two separate.

FAQ On Cannabis Infused Strawberry Margaritas
Can I make this with fresh strawberries instead of frozen? You can, but you’ll lose the slushy texture that frozen fruit gives you for free. If you go fresh, add a cup of ice when you blend to get that same cold, thick consistency.
How do I know how much this will dose me? It depends entirely on the potency of your infused agave, honey, or maple syrup. Run the numbers through the Bite Me Dosage Calculator using your infusion’s tested or estimated potency, then divide by the four servings this recipe makes.
Can I double the recipe for a crowd? Yes. Just double every ingredient and blend in batches if your blender can’t handle the full volume at once. Keep your infused sweetener separate until serving if your group has mixed preferences.
Is this recipe vegan? It is if you use agave or maple syrup instead of honey. Easy swap either way.
Can I make this without any cannabis at all? Absolutely. Leave the sweetener uninfused and you’ve got a completely ordinary, completely delicious strawberry margarita mocktail.
How long does it keep? Best enjoyed right away, since the texture is built on frozen fruit and will separate as it sits. If you have leftovers, give it a quick re-blend before serving.
