When Things Go Wrong

Basics · February 20, 2020

This week Marge continues with the theme of Getting Fancy by making a more involved edible. This recipe that she’s had her eye on for a while, required not only more time in the kitchen, but time to procure the ingredients.  But then things don’t turn out as expected!

Which begs the question, what do you do when things go wrong?  If you’re experimenting with infusions and edibles on a regular basis, it’s inevitable that at some point, something won’t turn out as you expected.  But does that mean it’s a total waste?  Not necessarily!

Here’s are some questions to ask before you pitch your infusion or recipe:

  • can you salvage it?
  • can you repurpose it?
  • could you incorporate it into something else?
  • is it fixable?
  • did you retrace your steps to figure out where you went wrong to avoid the same problem later?
  • did you take notes?!

Do you have a story of a time when something didn’t go according to plan?  Let Marge know at bitemepodcast@fastmail.com!

Here’s the link to the Goldleaf Journal that Marge mentioned.
You can also find them on Amazon if the shipping is too expensive where you live (just know that the Amazon link here is an affiliate link that supports the show).
